Accelerate the metabolism: key to losing weight?
We live in constant combustion. And no, we're not burning, is metabolism, that series of physical and chemical processes occurring at the cellular level, which convert the nutrients from food into energy for the body to meet the basic functions such as breathing, walking and maintain body temperature. The energy that comes from around 70% of daily calories burned are intended to support the basic functions of the body.
After digestion metabolism is activated. Molecules-the enzymes found in digestivo- system break proteins down into amino acids, fats into fatty acids and carbohydrates into simple sugars. Then these compounds are absorbed by the blood, which transmits to cells.
By increasing metabolism, calories are burned FASTER AND MORE EFFECTIVE, EVEN WHILE STILL
But why it seeks to speed up metabolism? Because to increase metabolism, burn calories faster and more effectively, even when stationary.
Of course the healthiest way to make this process happen is performing regular physical activity and cardiovascular. Aerobic exercise does increase heart rate and this helps to burn more calories; even if you end up making physical activity.
Strength training also increases metabolism. In addition, greater muscle mass increases the metabolic rate increases, because muscle uses more energy than stored fat. A person with muscle burns more calories at rest.
What slows the metabolism?
Extreme diets: Counting calories is not good for metabolism. Undergo rigorous diet causes the body to a state of great weakness and greatly decreases metabolism because not enough calories ingested.Nutritional Supplements: Some supplements contain chemicals that claim to have. In fact, the FDA (Food and Drug Administration, the US agency that regulates the industry), many are not checked.
Little sleep: According Hengy Rao, professor at the University of Pennsylvania, sleep deprivation causes a change in brain activity that leads us to eat more fat
Age: Metabolism tends to change over the years; it becomes slower with time.
That speeds up the metabolism?
Spicy food: Penn State University studied as chutney affects metabolism. To generate a temperature change in the body, accelerate metabolism in small increments.Proteins: Proteins tend to be harder to digest and this speeds up the metabolism and enzyme requiring more work.
Caffeine: This stimulant helps increase metabolism three hours after being consumed according to a study in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition.
Intense training: short and strong intervals help activate the metabolism. Gain muscle burns more fat because muscle is a metabolically active tissue and requires calories to maintain itself.
Green Tea: By having antioxidant components enhances combustion of fat. Researchers from several universities conducted studies on the benefits of this tea. They found that those who drank green tea lost weight faster than others.
Carry snacks between meals increases metabolism while skipping meals makes it slower, since no calories to process.
While there are always genetic barriers, some changes in the diet can help speed up metabolism. And the faster the cells work, the more calories are burned
